John Dunbar

John Dunbar is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Atlantic American Corporation, a publicly traded holding company with three subsidiaries involved in well-defined specialty markets of the life, health, property and casualty insurance industries. He is responsible for setting the IT vision for Atlantic American, including overseeing strategic planning, implementation, and management of all IT functions for the organization. John has over 25 years of experience in senior IT leadership positions for several global organizations in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Atlantic American, John served as the CIO for Aquilex Corporation, an industrial service provider to the energy industry and as the CIO for EMS Technologies, a manufacturer of specialty electronic components for wireless communication. John specializes in strategic planning, process improvement, and leading successful teams to provide valuable technology solutions for business. John has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. He is a board member of the Atlanta chapter of the Society for Information Management, and has served on the Advisory Board of the Georgia CIO Leadership Association.
