Boston Commons

As the oldest city park in the country, the Boston Commons is bustling with activity and excitement. From Colonial times to the present day, the Common has been at the center stage of American history. It has witnessed executions, sermons, protests, and celebrations, and it has hosted famous visitors from Generals Washington and Lafayette to Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. & Pope John Paul II.

Today, the Common is the scene for softball leagues, monuments, outdoor operas and different festivals throughout the season make this park the ultimate hangout spot during the sunny days of summer.

Cheers

Visit the Boston Beacon Hill pub that inspired the 1980s TV sitcom Cheers. Take the Norm Burger challenge, have some drinks or get a little bit nostalgic. Sometimes you just want to go to the neighborhood bar where everybody knows your name.

Fenway Park

Fenway Park is the oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. See the home of Red Sox Legends, Williams, Yaz, Fisk and Rice. Tour the stadium, buy some souvenirs on Yawkey Way and grab a beer at the Bleacher Bar located inside of the stadium. Visit Pesky's Pole and sit atop the world famous Green Monster which stands 37 feet 2 inches high overlooking left field.

Institute of Contemporary Art

The Institute of Contemporary Art is a hub of Boston’s contemporary and diverse culture. Designed by Diller Scofidio Renfro, the museum is all glass and sharp angles, a stark departure from the city's presiding aesthetic. One of the most arresting features is the rear of the museum, a cantilevered glass expanse that hovers vertiginously over Boston Harbor. The exhibitions and performances inside really bring the museum to life.

Harpoon & Samuel Adams Breweries

Harpoon, one of the largest breweries in the United States, gives you the chance to experience one of the most notable craft beers in the country. There’s even a drinking hall where a Beer Captain will serve you the freshest draft.

No trip to Boston is complete without a tour of the Samuel Adams brewery that pays tribute to one of the American Revolution’s most famous patriots - and, they say, enthusiastic brewer. Learn about the brewing process, taste the malts, smell the hops, and (of course) sample some of the brewery’s award-winning beers. There’s nothing that says “Boston” quite like sipping a cold Sam Adams on the waterfront while watching the ships make their way into the harbor.
